The Pizza We Love Making

The Pizza We Love Making

There are few smells more inviting than pizza coming out of the oven.  The aroma of freshly baked dough, bubbling cheese, warm tomato sauce, and toasted crust has a way of stopping people in their tracks.

At Pizza & Pasta Bar, pizza has always been at the heart of what we do.  Tucked away in Post Alley, just steps from the heart of Pike Place Market, we've spent years serving pizza to Seattle locals, market workers, and visitors from around the world looking for something a little different from the usual tourist experience. Some guests discover us while exploring Pike Place Market. Others come specifically for the pizza. Many come back again and again.

One of our favorite moments happens almost every day when guests from the Eat Seattle food tours stop by Pizza & Pasta Bar for a pizza sample.  For many visitors, it's their first introduction to us.  They're exploring Pike Place Market, tasting their way through the neighborhood, and discovering places they may not have found on their own.  They take a bite, They smile, Then they continue on with the tour, And quite often, we see them again later.

This time they're back for a whole pizza, a cold Italian beer, a local craft beer, a glass of wine, or lunch with friends and family. More than once we've heard guests say:

"That was even better than I expected." We love those moments because they capture what Pike Place Market is all about—unexpected discoveries, small businesses, and memorable experiences that stay with you long after your visit is over. Our Margherita pizza is a perfect example of why simple food can be extraordinary.

House-made tomato sauce, Fresh mozzarella, A blend of carefully selected cheeses.

Fresh basil, A perfectly baked crust, A few simple ingredients coming together exactly as they should, Then there's our Pike Place Pizza, Created especially for our neighborhood and inspired by the spirit of Pike Place Market, it's become one of our signature pizzas and a favorite among guests looking for a true Seattle food experience. From a seat at the bar, guests can watch the entire process unfold,

Dough being stretched, Toppings carefully placed, The pizza disappearing into the oven, Then a few moments later, emerging golden, bubbling, and impossible to ignore.

The smell fills the room, Heads turn, Conversations pause, And someone almost always asks:

"What pizza is that?" One of our favorite ways to enjoy pizza is the way many Italians do—paired with a cold beer, a glass of wine, or one of our handcrafted Italian sodas.

Whether it's an Italian beer, a local Seattle craft beer, or one of our wines, there's something about pizza and a good drink that turns a meal into an experience.

On a busy afternoon in Pike Place Market, it can be the perfect break from the crowds.

A chance to sit down, Slow down, Share a pizza, And enjoy one of Seattle's most iconic neighborhoods from a different perspective.  Some people come to Pike Place Market for seafood, Some come for flowers, Some come for coffee, And some discover that one of their favorite Seattle memories started with a pizza they never expected to find.

That's the magic of Pike Place Market And that's the pizza we love making.
